Thirty years of dedication to the art of pottery has led Daniel Slack to the distinctive forms and glaze technique that sets his art apart from other ceramic artists.
The electric firing process, while gaining in popularity, has long been considered a second-rate and limited firing process, inferior to the gas or wood-fired kiln. Since 1998, Daniel has been perfecting a high-fired glaze technique that demonstrates the electric kiln to be a complex and sophisticated as the artist himself. The 2002 Colorado Clay Exhibition in Golden, Colorado, brought him the award for Outstanding Glaze Technique. Two shows in national venues followed, along with the establishment of new galleries in the east and on the west coast.
